Dental Tips

  • Brush at least twice a day with fluorinated toothpaste that has the American Dental Association (ADA) seal of acceptance.
  • Daily flossing to keep plaque from building up in those hard to reach areas.
  • Use an antibacterial mouthwash daily
  • See your dentist if your gums bleed when you brush your teeth or eat
  • Have a dental checkup at least every 6 months

If you..

  • Bit your Lip or Tongue...Clean the area gently with a cloth and apply cold compresses to reduce any swelling. If the bleeding doesn't stop, go to a hospital emergency room immediately.
  • Have a Broken Tooth...Rinse your mouth with warm water to clean the area. Use cold compresses on the area to keep any swelling down. Make an appointment with our dental office as soon as possible.
  • Have a Broken Jaw...Apply cold compresses to control swelling. Go to the emergency room immediately!
  • Have a Knocked Out Tooth...Hold the tooth by the crown and rinse off the root of the tooth in water, if it's dirty. Do no scrub or remove any attached tissue fragments. If possible, gently insert and hold the tooth in its socket. If that isn't possible, put the tooth in a cup of milk and contact our dental office as soon as possible. Remember to bring the tooth with you!
